- Everyone attending Hoopla must have a Music & Adventure Pass. This is your ticket to the live music, all general admission areas in the Meadows, and most adventures.
- Pass includes all live music and most adventures advertised for that day and access to the Meadows and The Outdoor Bar area as well as the Brewpub, The Summit, and The Shanty.
- Multi-day passes that include Friday get access to our “Pop Up” Beer Tasting (21 & over only) in the Meadows and The Outdoor Bar area on Friday. Pop Up Beer Tasting information and details will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
- Kids 12 & Under are Free and our Family Activity area will once again be hosted by Little Planets.

We will also be introducing some new and exciting Adventures too!!! Check in every Tuesday for more Adventure releases!
New for 2019, no online adventure pre-registration. To secure your Adventure spot all you have to do is arrive at the ADVENTURE BOOTH 30 minutes prior to the scheduled adventure time to receive an adventure ticket. Adventure tickets will be first-come, first-served and once an adventure fills, we will start a waiting list. Check out the adventure list and start planning your Hoopla festival now!

Local Brewery Tour
Join us in celebrating our Nelson County brewery neighbors: Blue Mountain Brewery and The Brewing Tree. Transportation will be provided to each location along with a sample tasting. Must be 21+ to participate.
Local Cidery Tour
Join us in celebrating our Nelson County cidery neighbors: Bold Rock Cidery and Blue Toad Cider Farm. Transportation will be provided to each location along with a sample tasting. Must be 21+ to participate.
Basecamp Pilot Brewery Tours
See where it all started for Devils Backbone Brewing Company! Basecamp Brewpub brewers Aaron Riley and Erik Filep will give you a behind the scenes look at the pilot brewery. Must be 21+ to participate and must wear closed toe shoes.
Devils Backbone Distilling Co. Tours
Join Matt Casto, our Manager of Distilling Operations, as he takes you through the distilling process and shows you ins and outs of Devils Backbone’s Distillery! Must be 21+ to participate and must wear closed toe shoe.
Hoop House Tour
Stop by the Devils Backbone Hoop Houses for an interactive tour of our garden space! See where our pepper for the Vienna Lager Hot Sauce are grown. We will tour the edible gardens and greenhouses as well as discuss what Devils Backbone is doing to reduce our footprint, in addition to growing our own produce to provide our guests with the highest quality food.
Guided Hike on the Appalachian Trail
Join us for a hike on the Appalachian Trail with our local trail clubs! While this hike is about 3 miles round trip, the trail will give you a workout with some elevation gain and a little rock scramble. All hikers are advised to bring a water bottle and wear sturdy closed toe shoes. Transportation provided.
Flower Crown Making
Flower children of all ages are invited to create their own flower crown or boutonniere to be worn over the weekend
Corn Hole Tournament
Everyone’s favorite lawn game! Team up with a Hoopla buddy and show us what you’re made of. 1st Place wins a $100 Devils Backbone Gift Card and 2nd Place wins a $50 Devils Backbone Gift Card.
Bike Ride to Bold Rock
Hosted by members from Devils Backbone and Bold Rock’s Mountain Biking Club, this intermediate bike ride winds through single track trails in the Devils Backbone Camp before taking a scenic trail along the Rockfish River to Bold Rock Cidery. Enjoy a tour and tasting at Bold Rock before a quick ride back to Devils Backbone. This is a no-drop ride where riders may push their limits on the trails, and we’ll group up at intersections before rolling on.
Pop-up Beer Tasting
A Hoopla favorite, you’ll no doubt want to plan to join us for Pop-up Beer Tasting, a mini-beer fest in Hoopla! There is no charge for the pop-up beer tasting and all tastings are FREE to Hoopla festival attendees 21+. Take advantage of this amazing opportunity to meet brewers and taste beers from a number of breweries in the region! Tasting glasses provided.
Using white DB/Hoopla shirts, make some unique festival souvenirs. Come create your own piece of Hoopla swag. Non-branded shirts available for guests under 21; first come, first serve, one complimentary t-shirt per person while supplies last.
